Plum jam is a lovely firm set preserve that is lovely in jam tarts or cakes as well as on crumpets or toast for breakfast. Each kind of plum has its own individual favour and we use both red and yellow plums depending on what is in season.

Description

All of our jams are extra jams, having more fruit in than typical supermarket brands. An extra jam has to have a minimum of 45g fruit per 100g product and must be made from whole fruit. Each of our jams is made seasonally and we use hand-picked, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. We use granulated cane sugar in all of our jams and do not add any artificial flavours, preservatives or sweeteners.

Our jams have a best before date one year from the date of production and will be fine kept in a cupboard, larder or other cool, dark, dry place for many months; once opened they should be refrigerated and used within 3-4 weeks.

    A chuckleberry is a hybrid fruit and has a redcurrant, gooseberry and jostaberry (blackcurrant & gooseberry cross) parentage. This fruit has hints of all three parents and produces a lovely sharp, tart, but sweet flavour with very few seeds. This is our best seller and people tell us it “tastes like jam used to taste”. Use this jam as a lovely alternative to blackcurrant – it has a similar flavour, but more interesting.

    Blackberry Extra Jam 290g
    Blackberries can be found growing wild throughout the UK and are more commonly known as brambles. We use cultivar varieties in our jam, rather than wild grown fruit, which produce larger and more juicy berries although there is no avoiding the pips! Freshly squeezed lemon juice and apple pectin is added to the fruit and sugar to achieve a firm set.
