Blackberries can be found growing wild throughout the UK and are more commonly known as brambles. We use cultivar varieties in our jam, rather than wild grown fruit, which produce larger and more juicy berries although there is no avoiding the pips! Apples belong to the rose family as well as blackberries so these two fruits together make a wonderful combination with a smoother texture than blackberries alone. A spoonful of this jam goes wonderfully in a bowl of rice pudding.

Description

All of our jams are extra jams, having more fruit in than typical supermarket brands. An extra jam has to have a minimum of 45g fruit per 100g product and must be made from whole fruit. Each of our jams is made seasonally and we use hand-picked, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. We use granulated cane sugar in all of our jams and do not add any artificial flavours, preservatives or sweeteners.

Our jams have a best before date one year from the date of production and will be fine kept in a cupboard, larder or other cool, dark, dry place for many months; once opened they should be refrigerated and used within 3-4 weeks.

  • gooseberry and elderflower extra jam

    Gooseberry and Elderflower Extra Jam 290g
    Elderflower is a traditional accompaniment to gooseberry and produces a preserve with a subtly different flavour from gooseberry alone. The flower heads are foraged in June and washed before the small white flowers are added to the gooseberries at the beginning of cooking. When cooked green gooseberries and elderflowers will produce a pink coloured preserve that darkens in the jar over time. Gooseberry and elderflower is a lovely sharp flavoured jam – summer on a spoon!
